Community Producer - SO Festival
The project was one of several commissions as part of Sofa Fest, SO Festival's creative online solution to delivering a festival during the 2020 pandemic.
In the previous year I had curated and programmed an entire community stage and activities zone for SO Festival that attracted new audiences, artists and participants. All ideas for developing that work had to be dropped!
Working with two specific local groups who stood out in 2019, aerialists from 'Freestyle Fitness' and street dancers from 'Top Limitz', the connection project enabled their young artists to take part in creating a film. Shot on location under Covid restrictions, the final piece combined and showcased their work and delivered a much needed positive message of unity during the summer of 2020.
