Hello and welcome to my website.

I'm Bruce Knight, a producer/director/artist with more than 20 years experience in the arts. Recent/ongoing work includes "Different Light" projects, SO Festival, Arts Director for Spilsby Sessions House and work with emerging contemporary circus company Creative Heights.

My passion is celebrating people and encouraging fun, particularly by bringing communities together through creative projects. I enjoy working with a wide range of people, with all levels of experience and ability. I always aim to create high quality arts experiences and most projects involve key elements of community engagement.

My training and experience has enabled an understanding of how to create and promote artistic work and experiences that can be enjoyed by a wide ranging audience, including those who do not regularly participate in the arts.

I initially studied design and photography and worked in the film and TV industry, gaining management skills and technical knowledge that still come in handy! In 2002 I began working as a performer in circus, dance, fringe and street theatre, initially as an aerial and comedic character artist.  My practise and understanding of performing arts has grown through classes, workshops, watching, listening, and on the job experience.

In 2008, I became a key collaborative artist with the company Copperdollar, working for many years on outdoor arts events around the UK including large scale immersive theatre work for Glastonbury Festival, performances for the National Theatre's "Watch This Space" festival as part of the 2012 Olympic celebrations and development work with the "Gone in 20 minutes" programme.

Over the years I have also directed several theatre and circus arts productions of various shapes and sizes.

In 2013 I was awarded the East Lindsey Culture in the Community Award for work reviving and programming Spilsby Theatre. Sadly the theatre closed in 2015 due to issues with the condition of the Grade II listed building (a former Sessions House).

In 2016 I became a company director of 'The Sessions House CIC', an arts organisation established to support and advocate for a regeneration project to transform Spilsby Theatre into a creative arts centre. My work fundraising, networking and developing partnerships has led to Spilsby Sessions House being a key project within East Lindsey District Council's successful £8m Levelling Up bid.
